Special Services 7-12

  • At the secondary level, instruction is provided in Inclusion settings, In-Class Resource/Support settings, Resource Program classes and Language Based Learning Disabilities classes.  Our programs align with the general education curriculum, while providing modifications and accommodations included in students’ IEP’s.  There are classes specifically for students with Intellectual Disabilities, and Autism.  At the grades 6-8 level, there are also classes for students with Emotional Regulation Impairments.  Additionally, there is an extension of the traditional program specifically designed for students between the ages of 18-21.  These students have typically completed their State and West Orange High School graduation requirements. This program is designed to teach work-related values, attitudes, and competencies fundamental to success in the world of work. The program also focuses on daily living skills, navigation of community and time and money management.
