Special Services PreK-6

  • The Special Services department offers a range of services at the elementary and middle school level.  Students who are three to five years of are currently placed at Pleasantdale Elementary School, which houses the Pre-School Disabilities Program.  Opportunities for the Pre-School students include a full day program, half-day program, as well as inclusion classes based upon student needs and Individualized Education Program mandates.
     
    For students in Kindergarten through Grade 6, the Special Education programs include inclusion classes, Resource Pull-Out Replacement classes, Self-Contained classes for students with Learning and Language Disabilities, Intellectual Disabilities, and students with Autism.  At the middle school level, grades 6 through 8, instruction within inclusion, Resource, Pull-Out Replacement classes, and Learning and Language Disabilities classes is provided in a departmentalized setting where students switch classes and receive instruction in each academic area based upon the Special Education program outlined by his or her Individualized Education Program (IEP).​
