Hayden Moore Named Acting Superintendent of West Orange School District

April 24, 2023 - WEST ORANGE, NJ - Hayden Moore was appointed the Acting Superintendent of West Orange Schools for the period of April 25 - June 30 at the April 24 Board of Education meeting. Dr. Lauren Schoen, who has served as Interim Superintendent for the past 14 months, will serve as District Consultant for the same period. Moore will assume his Superintendency on July 1.

"I've been fortunate to work with one of the finest administrative, teaching, and support staffs that I have ever worked with during the course of my career," said Dr. Schoen.

"I am grateful to have fostered relationships with many of our parents and community members,who have advocated for their children and our program. I have been appreciative to have been able to work alongside an extremely supportive Board of Education, and I have been privileged to gather together with the community to recognize an exceptional fall sports season at West Orange High School. 

It is for those reasons, and many others, and with a great deal of respect and appreciation, that I extend my sincere gratitude for serving as your Interim Superintendent," she concluded.

Moore stood to hand Dr. Schoen a bouquet of flowers and thank her. 

"I'm looking forward to what's next," said Moore. "I am so honored to be your new Superintendent and be a part of our West Orange Community," he added.
