WEST ORANGE, NJ – It was a hard fought battle between West Orange and Linden during the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA North Jersey Section 1, Group 5 tournament on Nov. 1, with West Orange pulling out a 28-21 victory.

Thanks to three touchdowns by Farad Green, the second-seed Mountaineers were able to overcome a 14-0 score in the first in favor of seventh-seed Linden.

“The boys played with great heart and determination,” said WOHS Head Coach Darnell Grant.

“We were lead by running back Farad Gren and a great performance by our offensive line and hard-hitting defense,” he added.

West Orange will move on to the semifinal round vs. Piscataway on Nov. 8, in a game in Suriano Stadium beginning at 7:00 pm.
