Nikhil Badlani Foundation Presents Edison Middle School with Check for $2,000
WEST ORANGE, NJ - Nikhil Badlani Foundation President Sangeeta Badlani presented the team at Edison Middle School a check for $2,000 on Oct. 23 for raising the most funds for the STOP for Nikhil event on Sept. 22.
The Edison team, comprised of teachers Dan Dufresne, Pamela Romanchuk, Brooke Alvine, Jessica Byrne, and Kim Fields-Murphy, with help from the Edison PTA, raised $2,022 for the Foundation. Recognizing the importance of connecting elementary schools to the event, Badlani created the grant incentive several years ago to not only encourage but support the lower grades. Past winners have included Gregory and Washington Elementary Schools. It will be up to Edison to decide how they will use the grant money.
"Congratulations to Edison School for raising the most funds for the STOP For Nikhil event and winning the school challenge!" stated Badlani.
"Their incredible efforts will support the mission of safer streets and positively impact their school community. These funds can be used for important initiatives like playground improvements, special assemblies, library books and supplies, and enrichment classes. We're proud of their dedication and teamwork and they serve as an inspiration to others to continue making a difference."
