The West Orange community is coming together once again for the 3rd Annual #WOClearTheList campaign, a grassroots initiative dedicated to supporting local educators by fulfilling their classroom supply wish lists. So far, 150 wish lists have been created, spanning all grade levels and specialty areas, as the campaign continues to gain traction.

The "Clear the List" movement, which has spread nationwide, addresses a significant challenge faced by educators across the country. According to a 2018 U.S. Department of Education survey, 94% of teachers spend an average of $479 of their own money on classroom supplies, with 7% of teachers spending $1,000 or more annually. This campaign seeks to alleviate this financial burden by encouraging community members, businesses, and corporations to support local teachers by purchasing items from their curated wish lists.

Superintendent Hayden Moore praised the campaign's impact, stating, "The #WOClearTheList campaign is more than just an effort to gather supplies—it's a powerful demonstration of our community's commitment to education. By supporting our teachers in this way, we are directly enhancing the learning experience for our students and reinforcing the value we place on their futures."

Last year, the West Orange community fulfilled an impressive 90% of the curated Amazon wish lists, showcasing the extraordinary generosity and solidarity of local residents.

This year, the campaign invites not only individuals but also businesses and corporations to participate. By joining the effort, companies can play a crucial role in supporting the educational needs of West Orange's students and teachers.
