Third Grade Students Visit West Orange High School for Instrument Day
WEST ORANGE, NJ - Excitement was in the air as third grade students from Gregory, Washington, Hazel, Mt. Pleasant, Redwood, Kelly, and St. Cloud Elementary schools filled the auditorium at West Orange High School on May 10 for Instrument Day.
Music teachers from the high school band and orchestra classes brought their students in to play and demonstrate the various instruments students can decide to play beginning in fourth grade. This is part of a comprehensive music education, with orchestra and band students having the opportunity to grow and develop as musicians and perform in award-winning groups that have graced the stage at Carnegie Hall.
Students were enthralled as they heard the different instruments and enjoyed the performances. It was a terrific experience for the third grade students, who will soon enough be the musicians performing on stage as high school artists.
For parents of rising 4th graders, please take a moment with your child to ENROLL IN INSTRUMENTAL MUSIC. As you fill out the form, you will be able to watch short video clips of the instruments offered in our elementary schools and select your top 3 choices. Your child will then be assigned an instrument to learn. Once your child is assigned an instrument, we will provide information on how to acquire an instrument.
