West Orange High School Class of 2021 Athletes and Musicians Recognized at Senior Night

WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange High School Class of 2021 athletes and musicians were recognized at Senior Night, held under the lights in Suriano Stadium on Oct. 30.

The long-standing tradition brings seniors and parents out onto the field to recognize their commitment to their respective programs. This year, football, cheerleading, JROTC, marching band, Girls tennis, Girls and Boys Soccer, and Cross Country received accolades from Superintendent of Schools Dr. Scott Cascone, BOE President Ken Alper, and Board members Cheryl Merklinger and Jennifer Tunnicliffe. WOHS Principal Hayden Moore was also on hand to congratulate the students.

Covid-19 protocols were in place in the stadium, with temperature checks, masks, and social distancing. Temperatures dropped but the mood was upbeat as Breast Cancer Awareness month was recognized by both West Orange and Livingston, who lost to the Mountaineers 34-7.

The Mountaineer Cheerleaders and the award-winning Marching Mountaineers performed their routines during halftime.
