Liberty Middle School Graduates 257 in Virtual Ceremony
WEST ORANGE, NJ - 257 Eighth Grade students at Liberty Middle School graduated in a virtual graduation on June 18, capping off an unprecedented year of unique challenges for the rising high schoolers.
After a welcome from student council members President Skylar Lassiter, Vice-President Sean Harrington, Treasurer Dylan Schatell, and Secretary Svara Bhatnagar, Principal Bob Klemt offered his congratulations.
“Personally it has been very fulfilling watching each of you interact in class and learn, all have grown socially, and all have accomplished so much – whether earning Honor Roll grades, serving on our Student Council, assisting the school as a Peer Helper or Peer Tutor, helping your sports team to victory, or being one of the amazing group of 15 students who had Straight A’s in all classes for 2 years. As I reflect on our years together my proudest moments have occurred in seeing our young adults offer their time participating in community service activities,” he noted.
Svara Bhatnagar and Dylan Bedoa received the Mayor's Award for their citizenship at Liberty and in the West Orange community. Amaya Field, Vanisha Janaki, and Natalie Monter Noyes were selected to read their "Passages" essays.
West Orange High School Principal welcomed incoming freshmen into the Mountaineer family.
Straight A students for both seventh and eighth grades and the 2019-20 school year were recognized, followed by photos of graduating students.
