West Orange Township, School District Receive Safe Streets to School Recognition

 

 

WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange Township and the West Orange School District received Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Gold Level Recognition at the EZRide Luncheon, held Oct. 29 in Clark, NJ.

 

"Congratulations to West Orange Township, the West Orange Board of Education, and our Pedestrian Safety Advisory Board," began West Orange resident and PSAB member Lori Kapferer. Kapferer is also a Kelly Elementary School parent who helps the school's annual "Walk to School Day" with Principal Dr. Joanne Pollara.
 
The following Recognitions were announced:
 
 

West Orange - SRTS Municipality Gold Level Recognition

Kelly Elementary - SRTS School Gold Level Recognition

Liberty Middle School - SRTS Bronze Level Recognition
 
Washington Elementary School - SRTS Bronze Level Recognition
 
 
According to Kapferer, a highlight of the event was a presentation by Orange Mayor Dwayne Warren, Esq., who shared about SRTS initiatives in Orange. Orange was recently awarded $1,000,000 for infrastructure improvements as a result of their inspiring efforts.
 
 
"Thanks to our local Transportation Management Agency, EZRide, and all who made these recognitions possible," concluded Kapferer.
