Third Annual "Broadway Night" to be Held Oct. 16
WEST ORANGE, NJ - The Third Annual Broadway Night Concert is set for Oct. 16 in the West Orange High School Tarnoff Cafeteria, 51 Conforti Avenue, beginning at 7:00 pm.
The concert has quickly become a popular evening of entertainment, featuring the Glee Choir in performances from Broadway musicals. Musical Director John Hellyer was excited about the upcoming concert and shared a few highlights of what the audience can expect.
"We have several full Glee Choir numbers, including "Let the Sunshine In" from "Hair," "Finale B" from "Rent," an a capella arrangement of "History Has Its Eyes On You" from "Hamilton," a Jackson Five Medley from "Motown: The Musical," and a medley of Queen songs from "We Will Rock You," he began.
Students will also perform solos and in small groups, with featured songs from "Godspell," "The Secret Garden", "13: The Musical," "Guys and Dolls," "Gypsy," "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," "Falsettos," "Dreamgirls," "City of Angels," "Be More Chill," and "The Color Purple."
"We raised $1400 last year for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids and we hope we'll raise even more this year," Hellyer concluded.
Tickets can be purchased at the door; $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens. Dessert, coffee, and tea are included in the admission price.
