This year's faculty crew have once again done a magical job, working with students since October to make the experience enjoyable for actors, crews, and theater goers alike. It is truly a labor of love.

Actor Haven Burton, an Edison parent, also worked with the students to provide helpful tips on their performances.

"I first became involved in theater when I was in sixth grade," began Director Molly Eisen.

"My mom signed me up for community theater to get me to do SOMETHING. My job was to watch the props backstage. From then, I was hooked. For a shy, non-athletic preteen, I had found where I felt at home. To be able to share this experience with sixth grade students, who might get that similar feeling, is a true gift," she explained.

"Whether this is their first show, their last, or somewhere in between, I hope each student knows that without them, this show would not have been the same. Every single student has put their personality into these performances. Drama Club is a safe space for so many kids, and it's a privilege to watch them grow as actors, artists, and humans. The process of learning how to work together to build a show is, to us, more important than the final product. Though that’s pretty amazing, too! Making new friends, learning how to work together, problem-solving and seeing something through are not just important in Drama Club, but in life," Eisen added.

"To my students, once you are in Edison Middle School Drama Club, you are ALWAYS one of our Drama Club kids. I cannot wait to cheer you on at Roosevelt, Liberty, West Orange High School and beyond! I’ll be the one crying tears of joy and pride. Yes, even when it’s a comedy," she concluded.
