Greetings! I am Mr. Mains and this is my fourteenth year teaching mathematics at Edison, and my eighteenth year teaching (man, I'm old). I have previously taught fourth and fifth grade in other local districts. I am dedicated to helping every child succeed and appreciating the wonders of math. I expect my students to be prepared to work hard every day and strive for their best.

Some other facts about me:

*I have four children: Julia, who is 3; Thomas, who is 10; Joey, who is 8; and Zachary, who is 5. I also have two dogs named Fawn and Sienna.

*Reading, writing, watching movies, listening to music, playing board games, woodworking, and being outdoors are some fun things I like to do with my free time.

*My favorite sport to watch is baseball and my favorite team is the Yankees (sorry for any Mets fans out there).

*My family loves going up to Lake George in upstate New York throughout the year (see my picture above).

*My wife is also an educator, as well as my sister, and my father (now retired). So, I come from quite a teaching family!

*I love food, but if I had to choose my favorite dish, it would be anything my wife cooks (she's pretty amazing at it).

*I expect my students to give 100%, but I will give back 100% of myself to help them succeed.
