Mrs. Sandra Marmolejos
Hello!
My name is Sandra Marmolejos, and I am looking forward to another exciting year teaching at Roosevelt Middle School! After starting out my education at Ithaca College with plans of becoming an occupational therapist, I realized early on that my heart was in teaching. I finished my bachelor's degree in special education at New Jersey City University and began my career teaching at Harrison High School. During that period, I completed my graduate degree in English Writing at William Paterson University and began coursework in literacy education. In 2015, I began teaching at Roosevelt Middle School and shortly after, received my certification as an Orton-Gillingham Literacy Intervention teacher through Fairleigh Dickinson University. I've also attended the Yale Writers' Workshop, where I learned valuable writing strategies that I share with my students. Currently, I teach reading and writing intervention at Roosevelt Middle school, am the Poetry Club advisor, and teach English 101 and SAT prep at Hudson County Community College. I am passionate about all forms of teaching, and now I am honored to be teaching 7th and 8th graders at Roosevelt Middle School.
As a mother of four children, I know that no one understands a child better than his or her first teachers: his or her parents. Because of that, I encourage you to reach out to me and maintain correspondence throughout the school year concerning your child's progress and goals. A strong partenership between parents and teachers will better ensure students' success. That said, I'm eager to work with you and your children!
