Welcome to 8th grade science! My name is Miss Sylvester, it is going to be a fun year full of lots of learning and new adventures! I cannot wait to see what the year has in store for us in Science 8. We use Google Classroom every day. We will navigate through our curriculum by engaging in lots of independent and collaborative STEM based student centered learning activities. 

I believe in making each and every day in our science classroom count. It is my mission to instill a love for learning in my students. I attempt to teach with a passion and develop engaging real world problem based learning challenges that appeal to student interests so that my students develop a desire to become life long learners. I believe in a student centered classroom in which I am the facilitator and students are in control of constructing their own learning and understandings. It is my role as the facilitator to provide the necessary resources to support them every step of the way on their exciting journey.
