WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Special Education Parent Advisory Committee (WOSEPAC), Parents Advocating for Special Services in Education (PASSE), West Orange High School, and the West Orange Elks co-hosted a fun-filled holiday party for special needs students across the school district on Dec. 14.
Excited students and family members enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts, and a catered lunch. Councilwoman Michelle Casalino donated a hot chocolate station and board of education members Ken Alper, Sandra Mordecai, and Terry Triggs-Scales were also in attendance along with Superintendent Scott Cascone and Director of Special Services Kristen Gogerty. The guest of honor was Santa himself, who stopped by via the West Orange Fire Department to spend time with the children and pose for photos.
WOSEPAC was established to provide input to the district on issues concerning students with disabilities. They hold meetings and special events to connect with special education families and provide information to the West Orange community.
