WEST ORANGE, NJ - Faculty and staff at Washington Elementary School held a Spring Donation Day for families at the school on May 31, and the smiles on the faces of students and their families attested to its success.

Organized by English as a Second Language (ESL) teachers Karen Wynn, Luz Latimer, and Andrea Klein, clothing and household item were collected to give away to needy Washington School families. Washington is classified as a Title I school in West Orange, and receives federal funding to assist them in their goal of giving all children the opportunity to receive a quality education. To qualify as a Title I school, at least 40 percent of the study body must be classified as economically disadvantaged.
