It Was a Happy Halloween in West Orange Schools

WEST ORANGE, NJ - A soggy day did not dampen the spirits of West Orange students as parades, parties, dances, and contests set the tone for a Happy Halloween on Oct. 31.

The Gregory PTA hosted a spooktacular dance for fifth-grade students, featuring music, snacks, and excited students. The elementary schools held parades, some indoors, some outdoors, along with classroom parties. The middle schools held "Character Day," and had costume contests. Faculty and staff amazed in their own themed looks.

Washington Elementary continued their tradition of Kindergarten students trick or treating at "houses" inhabited by fifth-grade students.

"We have a lot of fun here," said Roosevelt Middle School Principal Lionel Hush, who was dressed as a Zombie Ringmaster.

Excited laughter and cheers during the RMS costume contest echoed that sentiment, as K-8 students across West Orange collected candy and happy memories of the day.
