Mr. Max Grossman

My name is Max Grossman. This is my 5th year teaching woodworking at West Orange High school! In the woodshop, I hone my student's craftsmanship and give them real-world opportunities to problem solve and think outside the box. In addition to teaching woodshop, I am the advisor of the Technology Student Association (TSA Club) where we compete at the Picatinny pumpkin sling as well as north jersey robotics. I also advise the set construction club where students learn real-world framing and carpentry skills that are used to create immersive and realistic set pieces for our drama department to use and perform with.

The classes I teach are:

Basic woodworking (9-12)

Machine woodworking (10-12, basic woodworking is a prerequisite)

Advanced Machine Woodworking (11-12, Machine Woodworking is a prerequisite)

I am also excited to announce that beginning next year we will be teaching a Home Maintenance and Technology course which will give students a brief overview of all the trades associated with residential construction and how they can assess and make repairs to their own homes when needed.
