Redwood Elementary School Welcomes Class of 2030 to Kindergarten Orientation

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Kindergarten students at Redwood Elementary School were dismissed early on May 30 and 31 so that incoming Kindergarten students, parents, and guardians could learn about the school and what to expect in the 2017-18 school year. This year's Kindergarten class will become the West Orange High School graduating class of 2030.

Principal Tim Beaumont and Assistant Principal Ana Marti welcomed the parents and guardians as the new students were taken on three Kindergarten classroom rotations for different crafts and skills projects. There will be five Kindergarten classes at Redwood this year. Beaumont and Marti reviewed what to expect curriculum-wise and introduced school nurse Kemi Aborisade, Guidance Counselor Rebecca Beutel, and School Secretary Dayna Martinez. PTA President Cindy Gomes asked parents to get involved in the Redwood community, as class parents and as volunteers in other areas.

Each elementary school is holding Kindergarten Orientation for incoming students and families.  If parents or guardians were unable to attend an orientation, they can contact their child's school for information and/or building tours.
