Welcome to Mrs. Marino's 3rd Grade Class!
My name is Danielle Marino and I can be reached at
dmarino@westorangeschools.org.
Congratulations! You are the parent of a third-grader here at Gregory School! You will be amazed at just how much your child will grow this year. Most likely, your child has had the seeds of reading and writing planted, and during third grade, those seeds will grow and blossom, making your child an accomplished reader and writer! You will be amazed to see changes in your child's thinking, as he/she becomes familiar with abstract concepts and symbols. These changes will be dramatic; just compare a tiny seed with a full-grown sunflower! That's the kind of growth you'll see this year!
Now is the time to tell you a little bit about myself…… I graduated from William Paterson College with a BA in Elementary Education and a BA in Psychology. I have a Masters in Education. I then furthered my education by taking classes in Special Education as well as reading. I have been teaching for 25 years in the West Orange School district. I taught first grade for 5 years prior to starting my own family. Following the birth of my first daughter, I came back to teaching as a basic skills teacher in grades K-5. I then continued teaching basic skills following the birth of my second daughter. This will be my twelfth year at Gregory School. I am looking forward to working with each and every family to make this year a tremendous success.
As a parent, you are the most important person in your child’s life, and we need to work together for your child’s benefit. With home and school working together, I strongly believe and know your child will have an extremely productive and fulfilling year. I am excited to meet you and cannot wait to embark on this rewarding journey together!
