Livingston Knights of Columbus Donates to Betty Maddalena Foundation

WEST ORANGE, NJ – The Livingston Knights of Columbus presented the Betty Maddalena Foundation with a check for $420 on June 19 at their club house located at 299 Eisenhower Parkway.

On hand to receive the check were West Orange School District Special Services Director Kristen Gogerty and retired Redwood Elementary School PE teacher and BMF board member Patti VanCauwenberge. The check was presented by Grand Knight Frank Federico.

The connection between the Knights of Columbus and the Betty Maddalena Foundation began with Grand Knight Carmine Iacullo, a computer technician with West Orange Schools. Iacullo suggested donating a portion of the April 22 of their Annual Pasta Dinner for Autism to the Foundation. Maddalena was well-known in the township of Livingston in addition to the West Orange Community.

Iacullo loves to cook and has been orchestrating the annual dinner since 2009. The Council has donated thousands of dollars to worthy organization with the proceeds of the dinner, and plans to continue their relationship with the Foundation in the future.
