Meet the Nominees for West Orange High School Homecoming King and Queen
WEST ORANGE, NJ - On Friday, Oct. 16, West Orange High School will hold its annual Homecoming game under the lights in Suriano Stadium, and the 2016 senior King and Queen will be crowned. The tradition is sure to bring alumni, students, parents and the community out to join in the celebration.
The process is simple: the WOHS teaching staff selects three senior girls and three senior boys that they believe are good representatives of the school's culture and vision. The senior study body then votes, and the top vote-getters are crowned King and Queen. The other four students form the Homecoming Court. Each nominee selects an escort to lead them out onto the field during halftime.
Meet the six candidates:
Homecoming King
Robert Parisi: Robert plays varsity baseball and is president of Lunch Brunch. He is part of the WOHS news team, frequently manning the camera. Parisi would like to play ball in college and major in US History or Political Science. He will be escorted by Amanda Scalora.
Liam White: Liam plays varsity baseball and is president of the Engineering Club. He is also a member of the Chinese Club. White is applying to Princeton and is planning to major in Physics. He will be escorted by Krista Dong.
Marcus Williams: Marcus is a member of the Marching Band (Drum Major), the Indoor Percussion team, and the Chinese Club. He plans to attend Kean University and study Automotive Design. He will be escorted by Briana Gilliland.
Homecoming Queen
Taylor Dellacqua: Taylor plays varsity softball and plans to become an Ultrasound Technician. She will be escorted by Jagger Gargiulo.
Roula Ramadan: Roula is president of the Glee Club. She would like to attend Rutgers or Montclair State University and study to become an English teacher. She will be escorted by Josh Winik.
Siena Stanislaus: Siena is Senior Class President and a Mountaineer Mentor. She likes photography and handles management functions for the Basketball and Baseball teams. Her goal is to attend Georgetown University, major in Political Science or Psychology, and minor in Fine Arts. She will be escorted by Josh Strauss.
The community is invited to attend the Homecoming Game and see who will be crowned King and Queen. The game begins at 7:00 p.m.
