West Orange High School Marching Mountaineers Win Grand Champion at Roxbury Classic

The West Orange High School Marching Mountaineers delivered a show-stopping performance at the 15th Annual Roxbury Marching Band Classic on Saturday, September 20, capturing first place in Class AAA with a score of 74.7 and earning the title of Overall Grand Champion of the event.

The Marching Mountaineers swept the caption awards in Class AAA, winning Best Music, Best Effect, and Best Visual, and went on to take home the Best Overall Music, Best Overall Visual, and Best Overall Effect awards across all classes. With the highest score of the entire competition, the band secured the coveted Grand Champion award, a remarkable accomplishment that highlights their talent, hard work, and dedication.
This is the band’s second major win of the season, following their first-place finish at the USBands Passaic Valley “Live at the Hive” show. Read more about their first victory here.

The Roxbury Marching Band Classic, now in its 15th year, features several local and regional high school marching bands in a celebration of music, precision, and artistry.
