Hazel Elementary School Receives $10,000 Sustainability Jersey Grant
WEST ORANGE, NJ - Hazel Elementary School received a $10,000 Sustainability Jersey Grant on June 5, funded by the PSEG Foundation.
Hazel Elementary School Principal Joel Castillo attended the grant award event, held at the College of New Jersey.
The grant award is the result of a strong and dedicated collaboration between Principal Castillo and the Hazel PTA. Together, their hard work and shared vision made it possible to bring the Greenhouse Learning Space project to life on the Hazel school grounds.
"The greenhouse will serve as a dynamic educational space promoting sustainability education, food pantry donations, and after-school programs in connection with our school's Green Team," explained Castillo.
"This project is a major step toward hands-on environmental learning and community service for our students," he added.
"We are proud to be part of a statewide movement toward a greener, more sustainable future, and we can’t wait to watch this project grow," Castillo concluded.
