West Orange Mountaineers Tackle Bloomfield Bengals, 42-14
WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange High School football team continued its winning ways on Oct. 22 as they defeated Bloomfield in a home game in Suriano Stadium, 42-14.
In a game studded with outstanding Mountaineer action, quarterback Zander Lipsey went 8 for 10 passing for 198 yards and had three TDs; Makhi Green had three receptions for 65 yards and a TD; Jared Massey had two receptions for 65 yards and a TD; Jekhi "Choo-Choo" Williams was back from an injury with 77 yards rushing and 2 TDs, and Rayel Hunter had 94 yards rushing and one TD. Kicker Sam Godinez went 6-6 on extra points.
Bloomfield struggled offensively, but Charles Abplanalp scored in the second with a two-yard run and Joseph Jones had a 97-yard fumble return in the third.
West Orange is currently 5-1 in the Freedom Red Division and will take on Irvington in an away game on Oct. 29 beginning at 7:00 pm.
