West Orange Scholarship Fund Application Now Online
WEST ORANGE, NJ - The West Orange Scholarship Fund Application for graduating seniors at West Orange High School is now online. The submission deadline is April 9, 2018 at 11:59 pm.
Formed in 1923, dedicated West Orange citizens organized the West Orange Scholarship Fund with the goal of providing scholarships to provide assistance to graduating WOHS seniors. This has continued uninterrupted since, and in 2017, a record amount of $108,000 was awarded to over seventy deserving students. In 2014, the Fund surpassed $1 million in cumulative scholarships.
The West Orange Scholarship Fund has three sources of income: earnings from its permanent endowment, generous contributions from the community in connection with our Trustees Annual Appeal and receipts from funds raised by the West Orange Council of PTAs including the sales of Tribute Cards by the PTAs at every school in town.
Scholarships are awarded based on various criteria including academics, community involvement, music and sports, and financial hardship. An essay is also required.
