WEST ORANGE, NJ - West Orange Girls Soccer sailed through the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 1, Group 4 Tournament on Oct. 30, beating Bloomfield 6-0 and moving on to the quarterfinals v. Bergen Tech on Nov. 2.
The girls played a great game," noted Head Coach Sean DeVore.
Outstanding performances by Kiley Capstraw and Emma Mitchell with two goals apiece, along with goals by Natalie Nevins and Katie Charles, set West Orange up for the victory. The defense was in top form, preventing the Bengals from scoring.
Nevins finished with three assists while Kaitlyn Charles, Hannah Villasin, and Emily Baker each pitched in with one. Keeper Cassidy Joyce finished with five saves and West Orange held a 16-5 shot advantage.
Following the game, graduating seniors on the West Orange Girls Soccer team were recognized.
The top-seeded Mountaineers will face off against eighth seed Bergen Tech in a home game beginning at 2:00 pm.
