Edison Middle School Annual Honor Roll Breakfast Recognizes Academic Achievement
WEST ORANGE, NJ – The annual Edison Middle School Honors Breakfast on May 31 recognized 187 students for their exceptional academic accomplishments throughout the school year.
Students were recognized in three categories:
Principal’s List: 14 (students achieving an “A” in all subjects in all semesters)
AB Honor Roll: 69 (students achieving a combination of Principal’s List and Honor Roll with “A” and “B” grades in all semesters)
“What do we say at Edison Middle School?” asked Principal Xavier Fitzgerald.
“Good, better, best – never let it rest. Until your good is better and your better is your best,” responded students.
“You are here today because of your consistency,” said Fitzgerald. “Do not stop here. You will be moving on to Roosevelt and Liberty, where you will continue to be challenged.”
Students received medals denoting their recognition with a ribbon in the EMS school colors. Following the medal presentations, students were treated to a hot breakfast buffet by Sodexo. The event was organized by guidance counselors Pam Halstead and Jeff Lafoon, who decorated the gym with balloons and helped to distribute the medals.
“Think of the school year as a race,” stated Assistant Principal Steve Melendez. “You have worked hard all year and you have won that race.”
