Dr. C. Lauren Schoen Named Interim Superintendent


West Orange Public School District Names Former Northern Regional Superintendent of the Year Dr. C. Lauren Schoen Interim Superintendent of Schools

February 28, 2022 -- (West Orange, NJ) --  The West Orange Board of Education is pleased to announce that it has hired Dr. C. Lauren Schoen as the Interim Superintendent who will commence employment with the District on March 1, 2022.  Dr Schoen is a thirty-three year educator having previously served as Superintendent of Schools for Rochelle Park School District, the Ramapo-Indian Hills High School District, and the Mahwah Township School District.  She has also served as the Interim Superintendent for the Fort Lee Public School District.   


In 2015, Dr. Schoen was selected as the New Jersey Association of School Administrators Northern Regional Superintendent of the Year. She served as President of the Bergen County Association of School Administrators and co-chaired the NJASA Spring Leadership Conference Committee from 2011-2019. The Board is pleased to have such a seasoned professional serving as our Interim Superintendent as the Board embarks on commencing the hiring of a full-time Superintendent.
