Mrs. Michele DeMatteo

I am excited to be teaching Computer Applications, Financial Literacy, and Coding at Liberty Middle School. Students will use various applications in Google Suite to explore and develop important skills and concepts. Entrepreneurship education equips students to seek out problem-solving opportunities and think outside the box. Financial Literacy introduces students to the basics of money management. That knowledge lays a foundation for students to build strong money habits early on and avoid many of the mistakes that lead to lifelong money struggles. Coding gives students the ability to create technologies that could change the world. In addition to students learning the basics of a skill set that can be used in a future career, coding also helps develop skills for problem-solving and overcoming challenges.

I'm the advisor of the Totally Tech Club. We run the ink cartridge recycling program. Send in your ink cartridges for recycling to earn Pride Points for your advisory.

This is my tenth year teaching and my seventh year in the West Orange School District. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from William Paterson University and am two classes away from completing my Masters in Educational Technology from New Jersey City University. I began my teaching career at the high school level teaching Business Law, Sports & Entertainment Marketing, Computer Applications and Financial Literacy.
