My name is Dr. Keri Orange and I am a Grade 5 teacher at Kelly Elementary School. I am excited to be able to teach your children many strategies that will help them be successful students. I have been teaching for over 21 years and I have been in the West Orange School District since 2003. Previously, I taught in Jersey City Public Schools district and Newark Public Schools district. I graduated from Seton Hall University in 1993 with a degree in Criminology and received my Master's Degree in Education, Administration, and Supervision in 2005. I am certified as a Supervisor and Principal/ School Administrator. I also completed my doctoral studies at Rutgers University, my topic of research being teacher evaluation, teacher efficacy, and teacher effectiveness. Other educational topics of interest include but are not limited to equity and diversity in education, teacher induction, and adult learning theory (andragogy).
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, going to museums, traveling, listening to jazz and I am a voracious reader!
I enjoy meeting my "parent partners" and working with them to ensure the optimal educational experience for my young charges. Teamwork and communication are paramount and I relish the opportunity to get to know my students and their families better.
Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns. Thank you!!!
