West Orange Rotary Provides Dictionaries to Third Graders

WEST ORANGE, NJ - Each year, members of the West Orange Rotary Club to give dictionaries to all third-grade students in the West Orange public schools as part of their community outreach.

Rotary volunteers stopped by Hazel Elementary School distributed the dictionaries to enthusiastic third-grade students.

"The students are always excited to receive the dictionaries and learn interesting facts in the reference section during the presentation," said Rotary Vice-President Cynthia Hadley-Bailey.

"The excitement in the children's eyes and smiles are why we volunteer to visit each class and explain the benefits of the dictionary and reference pages," explained Rotary volunteer Gladys Harris.

The Rotary Club of West Orange raises funds to purchase dictionaries for all third-grade students and offer scholarships to graduating seniors each year in addition to supporting community and international outreaches.
