St Cloud Elementary School Diversity Night Represents Township and Community At Annual Diversity Night
WEST ORANGE, NJ – St. Cloud Elementary School proudly represented West Orange the multicultural spirit of the West Orange community at its annual Diversity Night on Jan 22.
Students, parents and teachers were out in force to enjoy an evening that included sampling international foods, joining in on a multicultural “I Spy” scavenger hunt, and bidding on original artwork projects by St. Cloud classes.
Students' family histories lined the hallways and each classroom displayed original diversity projects, including Cultures and Traditions, the Many Faces of New Jersey, and Family Heritage. Students raced around the school to complete the popular I Spy Scavenger Hunt, which required completion of clues from each grade and their projects.
The cafeteria was transformed into a multicultural cafe, where families donated their favorite cultural dishes. Included on the menu was fried chicken (USA), pilan (Kenya), flan (Dominican Republic), ravioli (Italy), arroz con pollo (Spain), bratwurst, sauerkraut and spaetzle (German), moussaka (Greece), and saag paneer (India).
Families bid on the unique and beautiful art projects completed by St. Cloud students, with proceeds benefiting the School.
“We’re having a a great night with our St. Cloud community," said Principal Eric Price as he posed with smiling students.
