 West Orange Public Schools: Internet Safety

 
The West Orange Public Schools adopted a K-12 Cyber Safety program to educate its students, teachers, parents, and community members about online safety. This program, which started in September 2007, is being delivered using the i-SAFE cyber safety curriculum.

I-Safe, a worldwide leader in Internet Safety education, is a non-profit organization that incorporates curriculum with community outreach to empower students, teachers, parents, and law enforcement. The i-SAFE curriculum is aligned with the National Educational Technology Standards (
NETS), as well as goals set forth by the No Child Left Behind Act. The curriculum has also been reviewed and approved by the Child Protective Division of Juvenile Justice Delinquency Prevention within the Department of Justice. The curriculum has been correlated to national
standards in: language arts; history; social studies; and, health/safety. Source:
